Our Mission & Philosophy
Our journey started during the pandemic in May 2020. We ran a fundraiser for the food bank to give back to the community and provide some much needed connection for dancers. Little did we know this humble initiative would spark the
beginning of something very special. Flooded with emails and messages from dancers and parents to continue the program, we ran a virtual summer program and we officially opened our doors October 2020.
We set out to create a studio that brings people together and challenges the framework of a traditional dance studio. We are passionate about making dance inclusive from our anti-racist ballet uniforms to our gender neutral practises.
We believe that change in the dance industry is possible and we provide each dancer with the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed in an atmosphere of acceptance.
Momentum DanceArts is a safe haven for dancers to be proud of who they are and be celebrated amongst their peers and families.
We encourage creativity, build confidence, overcome obstacles, and learn the benefits of hard work and perseverance. Not only do we value the importance of personal growth but we educate our dancers about the value of respect, kindness
and teamwork amongst their peers.
