
JUNIOR BALLET is a 45 minute weekly class where dancers train under the Society of Classical Ballet Syllabus. Dancers do a barre warm up, across the floor and centre technique and work on choreography they perform at the recital in June.
Investment & Session Dates:
- Term 1: $433.20 – September 2024 – January 2025
- Term 2: $433.20 – February – June 2025
- Costume: $75-125
- Recital: June 22nd 2025
What to wear:
- Black bodysuit of your choosing OR fitted shorts & top.
- Skin coloured tights and ballet slippers (See our uniform page for MDA’s ballet shoes/tights policy).
- Long hair is to be pulled back into a neat bun with proper bun pins so hair remains intact throughout class. Short hair must be pulled back off of face. Braided buns are more than welcome!

Thursdays 6:45-7:30pm
JUNIOR ACRO is a 45 minute weekly class where dancers learn acrobatics – a fusion of gymnastics skills with classical dance technique. Dancers pair physical strength with graceful movements learning limbering, tumbling, partnering, balancing, flexibility and contortion.
Investment & Session Dates:
- Term 1: $433.20 – September 2024 – January 2025
- Term 2: $433.20 – February – June 2025
- Costume: $50-100
- Recital: June 22nd 2025
What to wear:
- Pull back long hair or braids into a low bun – no ponytails (dancers work on bridges/rolls where hair can get stepped on). Pin short hair off of face using bobby pins.
- Dancers can choose between tight fitting shorts, leggings, a bodysuit, or fitted athletic top. Dancers will be working upside down, please do not wear loose fitting tops.
- Bare feet.

Thursdays 6:45-7:30pm
MINI JAZZ is a 45 minute weekly class where dancers train under the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers Syllabus. Dancers do a barre warm up, across the floor technique & finish with centre choreography in preparation for their performance in June.
Investment & Session Dates:
- Term 1: $433.20 – September 2024 – January 2025
- Term 2: $433.20 – February – June 2025
- Costume: $50-100
- Recital: June 22nd 2025
What to wear:
- Pull back long hair or braids into a neat ponytail. Pin short hair off of face using bobby pins.
- Dancers can choose between fitted shorts, leggings, a bodysuit, or fitted athletic top. (We say “fitted” because dancers also work on inverted movements which make loose tops not as practical).
- Skin coloured jazz shoes.
